Can ProCirrus support a locally managed IT environment?
Yes. ProCirrus can manage local or hybrid environments when a firm has a specific reason to keep infrastructure onsite.
That said, our primary model is ProZone because bringing infrastructure, security, backup, applications, support, and operational controls together in one managed environment is generally cleaner, more secure, and more predictable than distributing those responsibilities across local systems and multiple vendors.
A local model can work well, but firms should understand that it is a different architecture with different responsibilities and economics.
Why ProCirrus generally recommends the hosted model
In a hosted ProZone environment, many of the technology layers a firm depends on are managed together:
infrastructure
applications
identity
security
backup and recovery
monitoring
support
compliance controls
vendor coordination
That integration reduces the number of handoffs between systems and providers and gives ProCirrus greater visibility into the environment as a whole.
It also makes the service model more predictable because support and many of the operational components are built into the broader platform rather than priced as separate activities.
Local IT can still be fully managed
If a firm needs or strongly prefers to keep certain systems onsite, ProCirrus can manage that environment.
Depending on the design, that may include endpoints, Microsoft 365, identity, firewalls, networks, local servers, applications, backup, security monitoring, compliance support, and user support.
The objective is still to provide one accountable technology partner, but more of the underlying infrastructure remains dependent on equipment, connectivity, vendors, and conditions at the client location.
Local does not mean the same service model
This is where expectations can become misaligned.
Clients accustomed to ProZone often expect the same inclusive support model when they compare it with a traditional local MSP arrangement. But local managed services are frequently priced differently.
Many providers charge separately for projects, after-hours work, onsite support, infrastructure changes, application work, network issues, vendor coordination, or other activities that may feel more inclusive inside a fully managed hosted model.
That can make a local service agreement look less expensive initially while creating more variable costs over time.
The right comparison is therefore not simply:
hosting cost versus no hosting cost
It is:
total operating model versus total operating model.
More infrastructure remains the firm's responsibility
In a local environment, the firm still needs to operate and maintain the physical technology at its location.
That can include:
servers
storage
firewalls
switches
wireless networks
internet connectivity
power protection
hardware lifecycle
local backup infrastructure
physical access
onsite troubleshooting
ProCirrus can manage many of those components, but the environment has more physical dependencies than a centralized hosted model.
That can affect cost, support complexity, resilience, and recovery planning.
Endpoints and local security become more important
When applications and data operate directly from local devices and local infrastructure, endpoint and network controls take on a larger role.
Managed endpoint configuration, patching, encryption, identity, multifactor authentication, firewalling, security monitoring, and other controls need to be applied consistently.
Additional protections such as Zero Trust application control, Data Loss Prevention, or enhanced endpoint monitoring may also be appropriate depending on the firm's security and compliance requirements.
Local data still needs a resilience strategy
Keeping data onsite does not eliminate the need for backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
A local environment still needs clear answers to questions such as:
Where are recovery copies stored?
What happens if the office is inaccessible?
How quickly can systems be restored?
Is there a geographically separate copy of critical data?
Who is responsible for replacing failed infrastructure?
What happens during a prolonged internet, power, or hardware outage?
For some firms, a hybrid model may make sense—keeping certain production systems local while using ProCirrus-managed storage, backup, security, or recovery services around them.
When might a local model make sense?
A local or hybrid model may be appropriate when a firm has a specific technical, operational, contractual, or business requirement that makes local infrastructure preferable.
Examples might include specialized applications, peripheral requirements, existing infrastructure commitments, or a deliberate preference to retain certain workloads onsite.
The important point is that the decision should be based on a real requirement, not simply the assumption that removing hosting will automatically make the environment simpler or less expensive.

ProCirrus can support local and hybrid environments, but our preferred model remains the integrated ProZone environment because it gives us greater control over infrastructure, security, backup, support, and operational consistency.
When a firm chooses a local model, we design the services, responsibilities, and pricing around that architecture rather than treating it as ProZone with one line item removed.
The objective is to make the tradeoffs clear so the firm understands not only where its technology runs, but also what it will cost to operate, who is responsible for each layer, and how predictable the support experience will be.
That version is more aligned with your actual positioning: local is available, but it is an accommodation to a different requirement—not an equal default alternative.
