Who manages Microsoft 365 when ProCirrus manages our IT?
Microsoft 365 is often treated as a standalone SaaS subscription, but for most professional firms it is a core part of the operating environment.
Email, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, identity, authentication, licensing, security policies, devices, and third-party applications all intersect with Microsoft 365. Managing it effectively requires more than purchasing licenses.
As a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), ProCirrus manages Microsoft 365 as part of the broader client environment.
Microsoft 365 is more than licensing
A Microsoft 365 subscription provides access to Microsoft services, but the subscription itself does not manage the environment.
Someone still needs to administer users, assign licenses, configure access, manage security policies, respond to account issues, coordinate changes, and troubleshoot problems that cross between Microsoft 365 and other systems.
For a managed IT client, those responsibilities should not sit in a separate silo.
What does ProCirrus manage?
ProCirrus manages the Microsoft 365 environment as part of the overall technology relationship, including areas such as:
Licensing and subscriptions — Provisioning and managing Microsoft 365 licensing, adding or removing subscriptions, and helping clients align licensing with actual user and business requirements.
User administration — Creating and maintaining user accounts, assigning licenses, handling onboarding and offboarding, managing mailbox access, and coordinating changes as employees join, leave, or change roles.
Identity and authentication — Managing the connection between Microsoft 365 and the broader identity environment, including multifactor authentication, single sign-on, authentication policies, and access controls.
Exchange Online and email — Administration of mailboxes, aliases, distribution groups, shared mailboxes, permissions, mail flow, and other Exchange Online functions.
Teams and collaboration — Supporting Teams configuration, user access, licensing, calling features where applicable, and integration with the broader Microsoft environment.
SharePoint and OneDrive — Managing access, user configuration, permissions, synchronization issues, and the relationship between Microsoft cloud storage and the firm’s other document and data repositories.
Security configuration — Helping manage the Microsoft security controls applicable to the client’s environment, while coordinating those controls with the firm’s broader endpoint, email, identity, and network security strategy.
Application integration — Supporting applications that depend on Microsoft 365 for email, authentication, calendaring, Office integration, or other services.
Support and troubleshooting — Resolving Microsoft 365 issues directly when possible and coordinating with Microsoft when a problem requires escalation to the platform provider.
What does being a Microsoft CSP change?
As a Cloud Solution Provider, ProCirrus maintains a direct administrative and commercial relationship around the Microsoft services it provides to clients.
That allows Microsoft 365 licensing, administration, support, and the surrounding IT environment to be managed together rather than requiring the client to coordinate separately between Microsoft, a licensing reseller, and its IT provider.
The practical benefit is accountability. When a Microsoft 365 issue affects a user, application, identity service, or business process, the client has one technology partner responsible for helping drive the issue toward resolution.
Microsoft still operates the platform
Microsoft remains responsible for the underlying Microsoft 365 cloud services and infrastructure.
ProCirrus manages the client’s use of those services: configuration, users, licensing, access, integration, support, and coordination with the rest of the technology environment.
That distinction matters. A managed provider cannot prevent every Microsoft service interruption or platform issue, but it can make sure the client is not left trying to determine who should handle the problem.
Microsoft 365 should be part of the larger environment
For most firms, Microsoft 365 touches nearly every user and many of the firm’s other systems.
Managing it separately from identity, endpoint security, applications, data, and user support creates unnecessary gaps.
The better model is to manage Microsoft 365 as one component of the firm's overall technology environment.
The ProCirrus approach
ProCirrus integrates Microsoft 365 administration into the broader managed IT relationship.
Licensing, users, identity, applications, security, and support are coordinated as part of the same environment rather than treated as an independent subscription.
The objective is simple: Microsoft provides the platform. ProCirrus manages how your firm uses it.
